Aisling Bea

Aisling was born on March 16 1984 on the island of Kildare Ireland. She is one of Ireland's top-rated and well-known comedians. The comedian appeared on QI alongside Stephen Fry. Aisling O'Sullivan, better known as her stage title Aisling Bea (born on 16 March 1984) is an Irish actor, writer and stand-up comedian. Bea started her stand-up career in 2011, after appearing in bits in several Irish television shows and British series since the year 2009. By 2012 she was regularly appearing on sketch comedy shows and sitcoms. In 2012, after winning an award at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards she began to be booked regularly for various panel shows where she is now a regular. Between 2016 and 2017, she served as a captain for 8 Out of 10 Cats and a regular contestant in the show's sequel 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. Her parents were Brian as well as Helen O'Sullivan and has a sister named Sinead. She became only the second female winner of So You Think You're Funny in 2012. The surname she uses is Bea to pay tribute to her late father. Aisling Claiodhnadh, born on the 16th of March, 1984 from Kildare, County Kildare. Bea's father Brian, an equine vet, who was killed when Bea turned three, was a sufferer of self-harm. She was told about his death only at 13 years old. Bea adopted the stage name Bea to pay tribute to her father and published an article in The Guardian in 2017 about the family's suicide experience. Bea as well as her older sister Sinead and her sister Sinead, were brought up in the home of Helen Moloney (n e Moloney) who was a jockey and teacher at a secondary-school. The family was passionate about horses and races. Bea was a guide for the Irish National Stud in her beginning teens. However, she knew it wasn't something she wanted to pursue for a living and that she was more interested in performing.
